The proposed stairs to the entry door has been <br /> eliminated from this project, no new site work is proposed. <br /> b. Structural calculations for the design of the wall shall be submitted for review. The wall <br /> is located adjacent to parking spaces and must support vehicle surcharge loads in <br /> addition to active and seismic surcharge pressures See IBC Sections 1604.1, 1605.1.1, <br /> 1605.2, 1610.1, and 18072. <br /> Response: <br /> Structural calculations for the design of the wall are no longer applicable. The handrail in Section A A/A-3.0, including the base connections, shall be design for the <br /> loads per IBC Section 1607.8. Calculations substantiating the design shall be submitted for <br /> review. Additional detailing for the handrails, including but not limited to the post base <br /> plates and welding, and post maximum spacing, shall be specified in the drawings. Note <br /> that Section A-A appears to only require connections at the top and bottom post; the <br /> intended construction shall be reviewed and revised as needed. See IBC Sections 1072.1, <br /> 1603.1, and 1604.1. <br /> Response: <br /> Section A-A/A-3.0 has been removed from sheet A-3.0. The proposed stairs to the entry door <br /> has been eliminated from this project. <br /> 6. Plans Basement plans on Sheets A-1.0 and A-1.2 appear to indicate that a new guardrail <br /> shall be provided along the existing wall. At a minimum, an existing guardrail must extend <br /> along the new section of retaining wall adjacent to the new stairs at the southwest building <br /> corner.
