:7 <br />Exhibit C <br />2012 Homeland Security Grant (HSGP) <br />STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM (SHSP) <br />APPROVED PROJECTS <br />Agency: City of Everett — Office of Emergency Management <br />The Washington State Military Department Emergency Management Division's (EMD) Homeland Security Section is <br />responsible for programs designed to prepare and improve the State's ability to prepare for, prevent, protect against, <br />respond to and recover from terrorist attacks and other major disasters. Through the U.S. Department of Homeland <br />Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the, FFY 2012 Homeland Security Grant Program <br />(HSGP) is providing funds to enhance the capability of state and local units of government to make measurable progress <br />towards the achievement of the National Preparedness Guidelines by addressing the unique exercise, training, planning, <br />organization, equipment, and administration needs of citizen preparedness and of emergency responders. <br />Washington State is subdivided into nine (9) Homeland Security Regions. Within each of the nine regions a Regional <br />Homeland Security Coordinating Office (RHSCO) has been identified. Snohomish County is the Region 1 RHSCO. <br />Homeland Security Region One consists of the recognized emergency management agencies within Snohomish, Island, <br />San Juan, Skagit and Whatcom counties, and the federally recognized Indian Tribes within those jurisdictions. <br />Through its application, Region 1 has been approved for expenditures under Projects # 1 - # 3. <br />City of Everett — Office of Emergency Management is approved for purchases of equipment and supplies as detailed <br />below. <br />PROJECT #1 <br />Strengthen Whole Community Preparedness <br />Project Description <br />Improve whole community preparedness for the possibility of terrorist attack or natural disasters. <br />Specifically City of Everett is authorized to purchase; Emergency Food & Water supplies: <br />Emergency shelf -stable 33 oz. water boxes; Food Rations, Sure Pak-12 (MRE's) and Food <br />storage buckets. <br />PROJECT #2 <br />Strengthen Interoperable/Operable Communications Capabilities <br />Project Description <br />Make it possible for all disciplines and jurisdictions to communicate effectively in the preparation <br />for and response to incidents. <br />Specifically City of Everett is authorized to purchase; Wouxun KG-UV6X Dual Band <br />Radios; Kenwood KHS-22 Headsets; Wouxun WXRC6 6 gang charges <br />PROJECT #3 <br />Strengthen Preparedness <br />Project Description <br />Ensure regional consistency and coordination of plans, implementation, training, exercises and <br />equipment to protect the community, economy and environment. <br />SHSP-FFY 12 <br />Page 20 of 25 E13-152 — Everett -DEM <br />59 <br />
