Project and Site Conditions
 1.0 Introduction
This report presents tlte msults of our subsudace exploration and geotechnical engineering study for
the proposed Kaneris Commercial Development in the Silver Lake area of Everett, Snohomish
Cuunty, Washington. The proposed building location and approximate (ocatioas of the explorations
accomplished for this study are presented on the Site and Exploration Plan, Figure L [n the even[
that any changes in the nature, design or location of the structure are planned, the co.iclusions and
reommendations cotained in this report should be reviewed and modified, or verified as necessary.
 1.1 Purpose and Scope
The purpose of diis studyas to provide subsurface data and geotechnical design recorrulendations
ro be utilized in the design ind developnent of the subjec[project. Our study included a review oF
available geologic Iiterature, excavation of esploration pits, and performing geolog,c studies to
assess the type, thickness, distribution and physical properties of the subsurface sediments and
 shallow ground water conditions.
Based on the findings of our field explorations, geotechnical engineering studies were conducted to
deterrttine the type of sui[able foundation, aliowable foundation soil bearing pressure, anticipatel
foundation :,ettlements, floor support recommendations, drainage considerations and flexible
, pavement design recommendations. This report summarizes our current fieldwork and offers
geotechnica( recommendations based on our present understanding of the projecr.
 1?
