Project and Site Conditions <br /> � 1.0 Introduction <br /> This report presents tlte msults of our subsudace exploration and geotechnical engineering study for <br /> � the proposed Kaneris Commercial Development in the Silver Lake area of Everett, Snohomish <br /> Cuunty, Washington. The proposed building location and approximate (ocatioas of the explorations <br /> accomplished for this study are presented on the Site and Exploration Plan, Figure L [n the even[ <br /> � that any changes in the nature, design or location of the structure are planned, the co.iclusions and <br /> re�ommendations co��tained in this report should be reviewed and modified, or verified as necessary. <br /> � 1.1 Purpose and Scope <br /> The purpose of diis study��as to provide subsurface data and geotechnical design recorru�lendations <br /> � ro be utilized in the design �ind developn�ent of the subjec[project. Our study included a review oF <br /> available geologic Iiterature, excavation of esploration pits, and performing geolog,c studies to <br /> assess the type, thickness, distribution and physical properties of the subsurface sediments and <br /> � shallow ground water conditions. <br /> � Based on the findings of our field explorations, geotechnical engineering studies were conducted to <br /> deterrttine the type of sui[able foundation, aliowable foundation soil bearing pressure, anticipate�l <br /> foundation :,ettlements, floor support recommendations, drainage considerations and flexible <br /> , pavement design recommendations. This report summarizes our current fieldwork and offers <br /> geotechnica( recommendations based on our present understanding of the projecr. <br /> � 1? AutLorization <br /> Authorization to proceed with this study was granted by�1r. George Kaneris on May f 0, 1997. <br /> ' Our study was accomplished in ;eneraf accordance with our Proposaf No. 97123 dated May 1, <br /> 1997.
