We were
provided with sheets S0.1, S1.1, S2.1, S2.2, and S3.1 prepared by CG Engineering, dated
February 20, 2019. No groundwater is expected to reach the wall. As a result, a footing drain is
not needed behind the wall. Any small amounts of shallow water reaching the wall face can simply
weep out through the lagging boards.
Based on our review of the plans, and discussions with Dennis Titus of CG Engineering, the
designed wall is intended to provide stability against foreseeable shallow slope movement within
the upper looser soils. This is one of the two stabilization options discussed in our 2012 report, and
is similar to what has been completed previously on nearby properties.
Based on our review, the provided plans conform to our recommendations.
Please contact us if you have any questions, or if we can be of further assistance.
Respectfully submitted,
GEOTECH CONSULTANTS, INC.
o R ivfe
Marc R.
