CITY OF EVERETT <br /> CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. <br /> Resolution Declaring the Need for the Housing Authority <br /> of Snohomish County to operate within <br /> the Boundaries of the City of Everett <br /> WHEREAS, RCW 35.82.070(13)provides that a housing authority may exercise its powers <br /> outside of its area of operation under certain conditions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of Snohomish County("HASCO") desires to acquire <br /> property in the city of Everett to build Work Force housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the community to provide Work Force housing for <br /> residents working in Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT THAT: <br /> 1. Declaration of Needs. The City declares that there is the need for HASCO to exercise its <br /> powers within the boundaries of the City in connection with the acquisition of property to <br /> build Work Force housing. This Work Force housing will have fifty percent of the units <br /> as market rate housing serving clients at or above 80% of area median income and the <br /> other fifty percent of the units serving clients below 80% of area median income. <br /> 2. Letter of Consistency Not Required. It is the City's understanding that this project will <br /> not include state or federal subsidies and that project financing does not need a letter of <br /> consistency with the City's Consolidated Plan. <br /> 3. Location and Design. The location of the property is at 3119 Rockefeller in R-5O (Core <br /> Residential - Office Overlay)Zone with an area of 0.56 acres. The design of the building <br /> will be to Everett standards and must be approved by the Planning Director. <br /> 4. Effective Date.
