The judicial need estimate for Everett has been over 2.0 full-time judicial officers since 2008. The present estimated need is for 2.59 full-time judicial officers. Presently the Court is operating with only 1.8 full-time judicial officers. This ordinance would increase the number of full-time judicial officers to 2.0, effective January 1,2015. In addition the ordinance clarifies how the presiding municipal court judge is appointed and clarifies some of the presiding judge's responsibilities. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance relating to Municipal Court Judge Positions (Ordinance 1259-86, as amended- Chapter 2.108 EMC). 1
