gal <br /> EVERETT <br /> WASHINGTON <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7490 <br /> A RESOLUTION of the City of Everett establishing April 22, 2020,as"Fare Free Earth Day." <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> A. The 50th anniversary of Earth Day is Wednesday,April 22, 2020. <br /> B. The City of Everett and Everett Transit have committed to improving air quality and <br /> sustainability through the investment in and operation of electric buses. <br /> C. Everett Transit currently operates seven electric buses and by 2022 will operate eighteen <br /> electric buses. <br /> D. Snohomish County Public Utility District provides the clean hydro-electric power for Everett <br /> Transit Buses. <br /> E. All trips on Route 6 between Everett Station and Everett Community College via the waterfront, <br /> are utilizing electric buses. <br /> F. About one third of the trips on Route 7 between Everett Community College and Everett Mall <br /> via Everett Station, downtown and Evergreen Way are utilizing electric buses. <br /> G. Snohomish County Public Utility District will supplement the loss of daily fare box revenue in the <br /> amount of$7,400 to allow Everett Transit to operate fare free, system wide,on Earth Day. <br /> H. On Earth Day,Snohomish County Public Utility District representatives and City of Everett staff <br /> will ride electric buses to interact with customers. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> 1. The City of Everett, in partnership with Snohomish County Public Utility District declares April <br /> 22, 2020 as"Fare Free Earth Day." <br /> 2. The City of Everett and Snohomish County Public Utility District encourages their mutual <br /> customers to experience the electric buses on Earth Day. <br />
