Alex Byrd
From: Alex Byrd
Sent: Friday,July 12, 2019 9:39 AM
To: Crystal Canter
Subject: RE:S1905-015 - 10210 Evergreen Way- Planning Corrections
Hi Crystal,
Thank you for your email. Please see my follow up comments below:
• Please either remove the reader board sign from the plans or add a note stating that it has been removed.
• Thank you for calling out the two setbacks on the site plan—please also call out the closest setback from the
south corner of the sign to the property line.
• Please show all freestanding signs located on the property. It appears that there is a freestanding sign for the
gas station. Although this is not a sign for the hotel, these properties are part of a Binding Site Plan.
• Please also show the existing/proposed landscaping on the site plan. It will need to comply with the landscaping
requirements below:
19.36.050 Development standards for specific sign types.
3. Protective Islands Around Sign Base.At the time of installation, all freestanding signs shall include protective islands
and curbing to prevent vehicles from hitting the sign structure and to improve the overall visual appearance of
the structure. Protective islands shall be designed and constructed so as to provide protection at least three feet in all
directions from the sign structure and shall be landscaped in accordance with the following standards:
a. Install one square foot of landscaping at the base of the sign per one square foot of sign face.
b. Landscaping shall include a decorative combination of ground cover and shrubs to provide seasonal interest in the
area surrounding the sign.
c. The city may reduce the landscaping requirement where the signage incorporates stone, brick, or other decorative
materials.
Here is a link to the Signs Chapter of the Code:
https://www.codepublishing.com/WA/Everett/html/Everettl9/Everett1936.html#36
Best regards,
Alexandria Byrd
LiAssistant Planner I Community, Planning& Economic Development
425.257.7281 13200 Cedar Street 2"d Fl., Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT everettwa.gov I Facebook I Twitter
From: Crystal Canter<crystalc@heathnorthwest.com>
Sent:Thursday,July 11, 2019 2:18 PM
To:Alex Byrd<AByrd@everettwa.gov>
Subject: RE:S1905-015- 10210 Evergreen Way- Planning Corrections
Alex,
In addressing the comments below please find a new detailed site plan. The reader board sign has been removed and
was on site when our survey was conducted.
