EVERETT <br /> WASHINGTON <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3746-20 <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE Designating Certain ATU employees as Employees who are Eligible to <br /> Apply for the City's Separation Incentive Program,Amending Ordinance No.3736-20,as Amended <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> A. On March 18, 2020, the City adopted Ordinance No. 3736-20 establishing an incentive for <br /> employees to voluntarily separate or retire from the City. <br /> B. The purpose of the separation incentive program is to reduce compensation costs and full-time <br /> employee levels,as well as to facilitate redeployment, reorganization,and other efforts to make <br /> more efficient and effective use of the City's limited resources. <br /> C. On April 1,2020,the City amended Ordinance No.3736-20 changing the application deadline for <br /> applying for participation in the separation incentive program from May 31,2020,to April 15, <br /> 2020. <br /> D. The need to reduce compensation costs has become more urgent due to the financial impact on <br /> the City of the COVID 19 pandemic, requiring that the separation incentive program be made <br /> available to a wider range of City employees. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 1.B of Ordinance No.3736-20,which reads: <br /> "Eligible Employees" are those employees,who are regular full-time or regular part-time <br /> AFSCME,appointive, Everett Police Management Association,and Snohomish County <br /> Construction Crafts employees who have at least 2 cumulative years of service with the City as <br /> of the Date of Separation <br /> Is hereby amended to read: <br /> "Eligible Employees"are those employees,who are regular full-time or regular part-time <br /> AFSCME,appointive, Everett Police Management Association,ATU, and Snohomish County <br /> Construction Crafts employees who have at least 2 cumulative years of service with the City as <br /> of the Date of Separation. <br /> Section 2. The City Clerk and the codifiers of this Ordinance are authorized to make necessary <br />
