Exhibit A—Description & Justification of Changed Work
The work within this project encompassed the blasting of rock and forested hillside within the
City's Water Shed in order to relocate a deteriorating gravel roadway; thus, making it safe for
daily travel. Once the work progressed it became obvious that the quantities of rock and
overburden material were going to be much larger than anticipated. The Contractor was
instructed to proceed knowing an adjustment of quantities would be necessary at the close of
the project. This Change Order#1 represents these adjustments as follows.
Bid Description Additional
Item Cost
3 38 additional drill holes were required for blasting @ the unit price of $8,740.00
$230.00 per each.
4 2,345 additional cubic yards of material were hauled @ the unit price $35,175.00
of$15.00 per CY.
5 4,220 additional cubic yards of rock were crushed for use as gravel @ $48,530.00
the unit price of$11.50 per CY.
8 60 additional cubic yards of surfacing material were placed on the $1,200.00
roadway @ the unit price of$20.00 per CY.
18 Force Account Credit for dollars not used on this item. ($9,700)
Total $83,945.00
4 CO#1
