The intensity for use in <br />O <br />OH <br />the rational formula shall be 0.5 in/hr. <br />ZOE <br />H" n <br />Spill containment vaults shall provide a minimum "live" capacity of <br />2500 gallons. <br />C H H <br />Bypass piping shall not be allowed for spill containment vaults. <br />H <br />Coalescing plates may be required for sites with a high risk of large <br />j <br />volume spills or discharges. <br />Z �3 CA <br />i3 OCA <br />For stormwater treatment a bypass piping system shall be used to <br />divert excess flow around the vault when the inflow rate exceeds the <br />capacity of the vault inlet. <br />f— <br />For spill containment, vaults shall be equipped with an isolation <br />valve. <br />A..�, <br />Spill containment vaults shall discharge into the sanitary sewer <br />system. <br />4.11.1 MAINTENANCE <br />The oil/water separator shall be checked frequently by the property <br />owner or manager and cleaned whenever oil accumulations exceed 0.5 <br />inches anywhere in the separator. <br />The separator shall always be cleaned in early October to remove <br />material that has accumulated during the dry season and again after <br />0 F <br />the first significant rainfall of the fall/winter (more than 0.5 inch <br />in 24 hours. At a minimum, the separator shall be cleaned once again <br />in the spring. <br />.,� <br />Oil/water separators for high risk sites, or those discharging to <br />sensitive surface waters, may require more frequent maintenance. <br />( <br />4.12 OPEN 0iANNELS <br />Points of discharge from culverts or storm sewers into any open <br />channel shall be protected from erosion by means of rip rap, splash <br />boards, stilling wells, and/or adequate vegetative cover. <br />IV-12 <br />
