Installing the OPW 61-SO is as simple as changing drop tubes.
The OPW 61-SO is a two -stage shut-off valve. When liquid level rises to about 95% of tank capoxlmateh valve
mechanism
is released and the valve closes automatically with the flow. This reduces the flow rate to approximately 5 gP through a
, typass valve. The operator may then stop the filling process, disconnect and drain the delivery hose. As long as the liquid
exceeds this level, the valve will cloy a automatically each time delivery is attempted.
lithe
i th esstorage
ra additional Is overfilled iqu id to anl flow into unsafe
a condition
until the le eliquops below bout
eset pointf tank capacity -the bypass valve
Advantages of Overfill prevention
compared to Overfill Llfarning
Systems:
■ Completely automatic operation, does not rely on the
alertness or speed of response of the delivery attendant
- for certainty of overfill prevention.
■ Keeps the top of UST"dry'- eliminating possible leaks
from loose bung fittings and the need for double con-
tainment on vent lines.
■ Does not rely on pressure in the UST to stop flow -
allowing faster hose drain times and reducing spill risk.
■ The hose "kick" that accompanies the valve shut-off
provides a clear signal that the tank is overfilled -
speeds delivery operations.
■ Installation in acoaxial fill application is simple and
inexpensive, no additional excavation orvent piping is
required rsee P. 19, Coaxial Stage I).
Features:
■ Simple, easy and quick Installatlon- nc, e;•cavalien
or special manholes required.
■ Economical - costs a fraction of expensive,compli-
caled and difficult to install valves.
■ Completely automatic operation - noprechecks to
perform, no resets, no overrides to be broken or
abused.
■ Works at all flow rates -operates directly from liquid
level.
■ Will accept a dipstick for gauging.
■ Retrofits directly- for existing tanks and 4" riser pipes.
■ Automatic hose drain -for operator convenience.
Two Pnital Fill
Application
The OPW 61-SO series is available
in two sizes for two point fill, separate
product and vapor connections,
applications. The OPW 61-SO
replaces the standard tight fill tube in
the 4" tank riser pipe.
See page'_ 1 for complete specifying and ordering inf orma20.
The OPW 61-SO series is also
available for coaxial fill, single product/vaporconnections, applica-
tions. The OPW 61-SOC series
valve replaces th9 standard coaxial
tight fill drop tube in the 4" tank riser
pipe.
