A new fire alarm system is being installed which will be NFPA-72. That should have already been permitted
separately.
2. Yes—an occupant sign will be posted.
3. The UL listing for the assembly is difficult as it is a bit exotic. UL P526 or UL P528 come close. Both use a Type
'C'gypsum board. (See page 10 attached).
4. Yes—modifications to parking area separate permit.
I am fine with red-lines. Let me know if you have any other questions.
David Murphy,AlA, LEED AP
MURPHY VAREY,PS
D: 206.708.1682
From:Tony Lee [mailto:TLee@everettwa.gov]
Sent:Wednesday, December 27,2017 1:57 PM
To: David Murphy<dmurphy@murphyvarey.com>
Subject: RE: Everett Hotel-B1712-011-one story addition
Hi David—
Looking over the plans I have a few comments:
1. Please clarify whether the existing building is equipped with an NFPA-72 fire alarm (as one-will be required
building-wide for this proposed addition).
2. The maximum occupant load sign for the breakfast room (54 persons)should be posted in the room.
3. The roof assembly shows UL listing M520 which is for parallel-chord-wood trusses and requires a Type C GWB.
Do you have a more-specific listing for light-gauge steel framing members and also for a Type X GWB that you
would prefer?
4. The site plan shows new striping for parking—I believe that this is actually going to be handled under a separate
PW permit that is yet to be submitted...meaning that PW has not reviewed this permit application for the new
parking layout(but it is shown on the current plans).
I can red-line the plans or two new sets can be submitted—please let me know. Also, Planning is still reviewing the plans
as well.
f t
