24. Please verify and provide calculations indicating that SW2 wood shearwalls along Grids
C & D on plan sheets do not require drag struts to collect load from both sides of the
diaphragm and into the shear walls.
25. Please provide diaphragm computations that justify the diaphragm design indicated by
the sheathing in the General Structural Notes. Also, provide chord checks for the
diaphragms.
26. Please clarify how detail 11/S602 is detailed as it appears that footing F3.0 is sitting
below the footing cut by detail 2/S602. Also, it appears that on plan sheet S100, the
detail 11/S602 appears as one footing. Please clarify the detail and or plans if detail
F3.0 is required.
27. Please specify where wood shearwalls SW3 and SW4 occur on the building as shown on
Shearwall Schedule on S501.
28. It appears that new roof over framing is being added to the existing building's roof
framing. Please verify that the existing roof framing is able to resist the additional
loading or provide additional strengthening of the existing roof and their connections
per the IBC 2015. Please provide calculations verifying these new conditions on the
existing roof framing.
29. It appears that the new structure is being constructed adjacent to an existing structure.
Per ASCE 7-10 Sec 12.12.3, please provide the structural seismic minimum distance and
provide calculations as required.
If you have any questions, please email or call me at (425) 257-7287. Upon submittal of the
drawings, your application will be given priority and plan reviews will recommence. All required
submittals shall be sufficient detail and contain sufficient information to ensure that the proposed
structure will be constructed in compliance with all adopted codes.
Sincerely,
V--"g
Ja s Bronder, PE
Associate Engineer
Plans Examiner
Tony Lee
Building Official
Page 4 of 4_
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8810 • Fax (425) 257-8857
