These <br /> comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br /> departments such as Utilities, Planning or Fire. All references refer to the 2015 International Building <br /> Code (IBC), 2015 International Residential Code (IRC), as amended by the State of Washington <br /> and/or Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) 2015 Edition, as adopted by the City of Everett, <br /> unless stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue,it will be necessary to provide <br /> the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the corrections <br /> requested. <br /> Construction documents shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of <br /> the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of the building code <br /> and relevant laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. <br /> 1. One exit door with a minimum 32-inch clear opening is required in every dwelling unit. <br /> (R311.2) <br /> 2. Provide 110 volt smoke alarm with battery backup and interconnected, in sleeping room <br /> and outside of the sleeping room. <br /> 3. The type of Smoke Alarms installed are restricted by their relative location to permanently <br /> installed cooking appliances. See code section R314.3.1 Installation near cooking <br /> appliances. <br /> 4. The elevation drawings show a window next to the door in the carport. The floor plan does <br /> not show the window. Please correct plans to be consistent. Windows located within 24 <br /> inches of either edge of a door in the closed position are required to be tempered safety <br /> glass. (R308) <br /> 5.
