Combined Downstream Route
(Downstream Map 1)
From the point where they converge (Photo 10), the two downstream paths continue East
as a stream named Silver Lake Creek (Photo 11 and 12). Silver Lake Creek has been
established as a type 3 stream by previous projects. Previous downstream analyses note a
36 inch culvert a few hundred feet downstream of the Herschlip development, but this
culvert was not located during site visits for this project. Beyond the mile downstream
point the creek enters Ruggs Lake. A stream, now called Penny Creek, flows southeast
from Ruggs Lake and continues southeast, then south, as it passes through a number of
roadway culverts, as well as Thomas Lake, before eventually entering the Sammamish
River.
Photo 10. Facing East. Outlet of stream culvert and Herschlip storm sewer to Silver
Lake Creek.
