Clean concrete wall of dust and debris (Office Set Job Site Set Fire/Planning Set <br /> 2. Apply adhesive to the wall <br /> 3. Attach foam insulation directly to concrete wall <br /> 4. Build wooden wall frame <br /> a. Attach pressure treated base 2x4 to the ground first with adhesive,then with 3" nails <br /> driven through the base into the concrete below it.The base must be at least 1/2" <br /> separated from the foam, creating an empty space. <br /> b. Attach vertical 2x4 studs to the base with elbow joints and 1" screws. <br /> c. Attach the top 2x4 along the top of the studs,fastened to each stud with elbow joints <br /> and screws. <br /> d. Fasten the top 2x4 to the joists in the ceiling with screws. If necessary add shims so <br /> there is no space between the wood frame and the joists. <br /> 5. Cover the gap between the top of the wooden frame and the concrete wall behind it with a thin <br /> piece of drywall,this will cover the gap created by the empty space,working as a fireblock. <br /> Fasten in place with adhesive. <br /> 6. Insert fiberglass insulation between the studs and fasten in place. <br /> 7. Attach drywall to the front of the wooden frame and fasten with screws going through the <br /> drywall into the wooden studs behind it. <br /> Note: The concrete wall has two different configurations, depending one which wall in the <br /> basement you are looking at, which affect the placement of the fireblock.These configurations are <br /> denoted in the attached drawings. <br /> Step 2,floor <br /> Wood laminate flooring iftig91!1.
