The file records for this property indicate that this building has been in violation for alterations without required permits and approvals for some time. As you know a violation citation for alteration of a single family house to duplex without required permits and a notice to comply were prepared for this property some years ago by your office, 2007 and 2010 respectively. I don't know the details regarding the outcome of those actions but I can state with confidence that the violations of record were not abated. CRW records indicate conclusively that the building located at 3415 Oakes Ave is an Unlawful Structure as defined by sections 106.1 and 108.1.4 of the IPMC. I strongly support and encourage enforcement action to abate these violations. I will make myself available to assist you should you wish to visit the site or post a notice. Regards Ted Budden Chief Inspector Everett Building Department 425.257 7271 From: Cynthia Keirsey Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2016 8:16 AM To:Ted Budden Subject: Hazardous vent pipe at 3415 Oakes Avenue, Dixie Walker Ted, I was out to 3415 Oakes Avenue yesterday for a complaint regarding trash and noted a hazardous vent pipe on the back of the house. Per the adult female resident Rolanda Kirkwood it may be connected to a water heater.A window was closed off with plywood and the vent pile extending next to an openable window.The pipe is held in place with plumbers tape. I attached a picture. I advised Rolanda that I am sending an inspector to view the situation with the vent pipe. Rolanda can be reached at(425) 350-7756. Thanks, Cindy K
