Project:Pacific Avenue to Interurban Trail Bicycle Safety <br /> Change Order No. 1 <br /> Change Order Effective Date: 1/13/2020 <br /> Exhibit A--Description of Changed Work <br /> Change Order No. 1 adds two new items to the Contract as follows: <br /> Work Order#PW3688: <br /> Add new item #57 titled—Cement Concrete Wall Cap, at the unit price of$106.40 per linear foot, <br /> for 111 linear feet,resulting in a$11,810.40 contract price increase. <br /> Add new item #58 titled—Equitable Adjustment to Cement Concrete Modular Block Retaining <br /> Wall,in the agreed lump sum price of$2,160.00. <br /> The total contract price increase as a result of Change Order#1 is $13,970.40. <br /> JUSTIFICATION: <br /> New item#57—Cement Concrete Wall Cap. This bid item is being added to the Contract as the <br /> • <br /> plans specified the need for a wall cap,however the bid proposed did not provide a bid item for it. <br /> New item #58—Equitable Adjustment to Cement Concrete Modular Block Retaining Wall. This • <br /> bid item is being added to the Contract per section 1-04.6 of the Standard Specifications entitled <br /> variation in Estimated Quantities. <br /> The estimated quantities for the Cement Concrete Modular Block Retaining Wall were estimated to be <br /> 472 square feet. The actual quantities installed were only 300 square feet, for a total cost of <br /> $12,000.00. <br /> Per section 1-04.6 when the actual quantities are less than 75%of plan quantity the Contractor is <br /> entitled to an"equitable adjustment"to cover unavoidable fixed cost and overhead. <br /> 75% of the original plan quantity represents 354 square feet, (i.e., 472 times 0.75). 300 SF of block <br /> were paid for thus the Contractor is entitled to an additional 54 square feet at the unit price of <br /> $40.00/SF which equals$2,160.00. <br /> CONTRACT TIME: No additional contract days are being added by this change order#1. <br />
