Project: WPCF Chlorination Building Upgrade
Change Order No. 03
Change Order Effective Date: February 25, 2020
future excavation. The water was able to infiltrate the future excavation because of the presence of
quarry spalls in the lower section of the excavation. The existence of the quarry spalls was not shown
in the geotechnical report and borings provided by the City's design engineers, resulting in a
"changed" or"differing site conditions" situation.
The differing site conditions encountered by the Contractor at the site resulted in the need to expend
additional time, materials, equipment and labor to complete the Work at the new outfall manhole.
New item#12 is being created to compensation the Contractor for this additional time, labor,
equipment and materials as a result of the differing site conditions.
CONTRACT TIME: Change order#3 adds 28-calandar days to the contract.
In-order-for the Contractor to excavate for the outfall manhole an additional seven weeks of time
was needed. The reduction in the piling saved three weeks of time, resulting in a gain of 4-weeks to
the contract.
