PUBLIC WORKS
July 5, 2013
Jeff Sellentin
Jeff@sellentininc.com
RE: Owner: Integral Northwest
Job Address: 1610 SE Everett Mall Way
Plan Check No: B1306-029
Dear Mr. Sellentin:
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you
are advised that revisions may be necessary before a permit can be issued. Please review and
respond to the comments below. These comments address building issues only. Additional
revisions, or additions, may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire).
All references refer to the 2009 International Building Code (IBC), the 2009 International Fire Code
(IFC), the 2009 International Mechanical Code (IMC), and the 2009 Washington State Energy Code
(WSEC), as amended by the State of Washington and adopted by the City of Everett. The current
IBC referenced standard for accessible design is the 2003 "Accessible and Usable Buildings and
Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1). Federal ADA regulations and standards may be more restrictive.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of construction documents
reflecting the corrections requested.
1. The submitted plans indicate a fire lane cover structure that appears to border the property
line between the proposed project and Days Inn. IBC 705.8 prohibits openings in this wall.
IBC 602 and 705 provide all of the applicable fire protection requirements. Please provide
details.
2. The floor plans indicate wall type 4, which is non-rated, for some of the exit enclosure walls,
which are required to be one-hour rated.
3. IBC 1507 requires a minimum roof slope of 1/4 inch per foot. Please revise the roof plan.
4. The building envelope is required to comply with WSEC 1311 through 1314. Please provide
all necessary information to verify compliance.
5. The structural plans for the main building are incomplete.
6. The structural engineer of record should include their signature along with their seal. Also,
the seal should not indicate the possibility of an expired license.
If you have any questions, please call me at 425-257-7264.
Please prepare a response letter showing where each item in this correction letter is addressed on
the plan set.
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425)257-8800 • Fax(425) 257-8882
