Stormwater Site Plan January 9,2018
Catholic Housing Services—Everett Safe Streets Supportive Housing
shall be modified as shown in detail 1/C7 of the plans to feed water into a COE Std Dwg 205 temporary
pipe slope drain. Discharge shall be released into the existing type 2 catch basin at the foot of the hill.
The existing tarmac, gravel lot and road that are on the property and easement shall be removed during
clearing and grubbing. All loose soil, gravel, and broken pavement in stock piles shall be covered with
plastic and surrounded by 12-inch compost socks or wattles at the base. This will help prevent sediment
transport. The four existing catch basins and two existing manholes on site shall have storm drain inlet
protection (COE Std Dwg 210)to protect them from sediment and clogging.
Periodic street cleaning shall be provided to remove any sediment that may have been tracked off site.
Sediment should be removed by either shoveling or sweeping and carefully removed to a suitable
disposal area where it will not be eroded. Additional street cleaning may be required as directed by the
city public works inspector. The use of vacuum sweepers is encouraged by the COE.
All installed erosion and sediment control BMPs shall be inspected and maintained in good effective
condition once per week and following any storm. Following the completion of construction, the all silt
fences, compost socks, wattles, etc.shall be removed. If compost berm or sock is used, they shall be
thoroughly raked and spread out,and may be left on the ground.
V. Source Control Plan
Section S402 (Volume IV,Chapter 2, Page 622)of the SWMMWW(December 2014) lists commercial
animal handling areas as potential sources of stormwater runoff pollutants.Though dog runs are not
specifically listed,a dog walk yard for a multi-family housing site does have the potential for high
manure deposits.
As shown in the site plans on sheet L1, and detailed on sheet L3,the area is to be mulched with 6"thick
compacted arborist chips, underlaid with a weed fabric, and compacted sub-grade.These measures will
help mitigate the amount of infiltration and the amount of runoff that has contacted any manure on the
surface from leaving the dog run area,on or below the surface.Signage for pet owners to pick up after
their animal shall be posted. Furthermore,a pet waste station and trash receptacles shall be placed for
the use of residents that own pets. Finally, the area is planned to be enclosed with a fence to prevent
animals from moving away from the controlled are where BMPs are used. The above mentioned
measures are per Section S402 of the SWMMWW.
VI. Special Reports or Studies
A site land survey was conducted for the purposes of site and building design and layout by Alpha
Subdivision Pro's Inc. Land Surveying and Planning in October 2016. A geotechnical investigation was
performed by Geotech Consultants,Inc on November 1,2016. Both survey and geotechnical report can
be found in Appendix B and C of this report, respectively.
VII. Other Permits
Permits needed for the ESSSH Site include Civil, Building and Land Use Permits through the COE. The
Civil Permit is addressed by this Stormwater Site Plan, which has been prepared in accordance with the
guidance provided in Volume I,Chapter 3 of the DOE Stormwater Management Manual.
4IPage
