Storm drain covers or a similarly effective containment device mu0t be placed on all nearby <br /> drains to prevent dirty runoff and loose particles from enter;ng the stormwatcr drainage system. <br /> Covers shall be placed at the beginning of the workday and the accumulated materials collected <br /> and disposed of before removing the covers at the end of the workday. If storm drains are-rot <br /> present,dikes,berms,or other methods must be used to protect overland discharge paths from <br /> -options. Street gutters,sidewalks,driveways,and other paved surfaces in the immediate area of <br /> the demolition must be swept at the end of each workday to collect and properly dispose of loose <br /> debris-and-garbage <br /> 2. Check with the City's Building Department(425)257-8810 to obtair required permits. <br /> Suggested-BMPs <br /> 1. Water should be sprayed throughout the site to help control wind blowing of fine materials such <br /> control. <br /> 2. If possible,a wall should be constructed to prevent stray building materials and dust from <br /> escaping the arca during demolition. <br /> 3. Schedule demolition to take place at a dry time of the year. <br /> A5.2 Buiklina Repair,Remodeling. Paintina,and Construction <br /> Description of Pollutant Sources: This activity refers to activities associated with construction of <br /> buildings and other structures,remodeling of existing buildings and houses,and general exterior building <br /> repair work. Concrete pouring is covered under A3.2 Concrete Pouring and Asphalt Application at <br /> Temporary Sites. <br /> Pollutants of concern include toxic hydrocarbons,toxic organics,suspended solids,heavy metals,pH, <br /> oils,and greases. <br /> Pollutant Control Approach: Employees must be educated about the need to control site activities. <br /> Control leaks,spills,and loose material.
