Ted de Budden
From: Donald Cunningham
Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2019 10:07 AM
To: Ted de Budden
Cc: Jeff Heilman
Subject: 4810 S 3rd Ave
Ted,
The current owner, Clete Messerly, says he has been talking with Jeff about necessary permits to abate the unsafe
electrical conditions at this property. I met Messerly at the property yesterday and he has not yet gained any permits—
despite owning the house now since July 2018. He also has several persons working on the house—putting in new
floors, he claims he has not put in any electrical but that he replaced some of the electrical boxes that have wire
protruding. Power has been restored and he says he controls the safety of the exposed electrical wire by having breaker
in the panel in off position (a panel put in by last owner that never gained approval) and by keeping the house vacant
and secure.
I suggest you check the status of current work if you can—determine if they are doing work without permits. I let him
know—if he does not gain permits soon—I will likely issue enforcement to him as the new owner, for the unlawful
status of the structure.
Thanks!
Don
Don Cunningham
x` ° Code Enforcement Officer I Everett Police
{µ a
425.257.8564 I 3002 Wetmore Ave., Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT everettwa.gov/police I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to
disclosure pursuant to the Public Records Act.
1
