The architectural drawings do not include plan views of the platform levels clarifying the <br /> required construction. As an example, the stairway runs and intermediate platforms are not <br /> clear. Other information may be required to clarify the proposed work. Plans should be <br /> provided clarifying the work to be performed. See IBC Section 107.2.1. <br /> 2. Continuing with the previous comment, Plan 2/S1.1 shows a limited extent of floor grating <br /> and references the mechanical drawings for additional information. The architectural <br /> drawings shall show the extend of the intended walking surface, including the stairways and <br /> grating panels intended to be temporarily removable. Where panels are intended to be <br /> removable, guards shall be provided. Details for the connection of the grating to the <br /> structural framing shall be provided. See IBC Section 107.2.1. <br /> 3. The drawings do not include the stairways and intermediate platforms. Elevations, sections, <br /> and details should be provided as needed to clarify the required construction. See IBC <br /> Sections 107.2.1 and 1011. <br /> 4. The structure, including the stairways and intermediate platforms, shall be provided with <br /> guards along all walking surfaces. Details for the design of the guards shall be provided in <br /> the construction drawings. See IBC Sections 5053.3 and 1015.2. <br /> 5. The construction drawings shall require a sprinkler system to be installed on all levels of the <br /> structure. See IBC Section 505.3.2. <br /> Structural <br /> General: <br /> 1. Design load criteria is provided on Sheet S1.2. The seismic criteria per Item 3.c shall be <br /> revised to also state the following: seismic lateral force resisting system, response <br /> modification factor (R), seismic response coefficient (Cs), the base shear, and the analysis <br /> procedure used. Note that the comments provided in this review are based on the <br /> performance of the structural design using the Equivalent Lateral Force Procedure (ELFP) <br /> per ASCE 7-10 Section 12.8, as indicated by the structural calculations. See IBC Sections <br /> 1603.1.5 and 1613.1. <br /> 2. Structural and geotechnical special inspections are required for this project. A list of the <br /> required inspections is provided in the"Special Inspections" section of the General Notes on <br /> Sheet S1.2. The list shall be revised to specify the extent of each inspection (e.g., <br /> continuous, periodic). See IBC Sections 107.1 and 1704.3.1. <br /> 3. Detail 4/S1.2 appears intended to show the connection of the beams and diaphragm bracing <br /> in in the plane of the floor system. The details includes a section cut for Detail "4A", which <br /> is provided. However, Detail "4a"appears intended. The detail should be revised as <br /> needed.
