The new B-3 <br /> regulations eliminated the requirement for off-street parking for non-residential uses. The City has concerns about the <br /> impact that large government administrative offices and other public service buildings without adequate off-street <br /> parking may have on the business community in the downtown. The proposed ordinance establishes an interim <br /> regulation that will require any new building or expansion of an existing government administrative office or public <br /> service building with more than 25,000 square feet gross floor area to provide a minimum of one off-street parking <br /> space per 800 square feet. This standard is identical to the standard for office uses in the B-3 zone under the pre-2006 <br /> zoning code. The interim regulation will be effective for one year unless earlier amended or extended. A public <br /> hearing will be scheduled to take public testimony within 60 days of the date of adoption of this interim regulation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council):Adopt the Ordinance establishing an interim <br /> regulation for off-street parking requirements for Government Administrative Offices, and Public Service <br /> Buildings in the B-3 (Central Business District)Zone,Amending Ordinance No. 2923-06,as amended. <br />
