City surface water along the 3200 block of Shore Avenue currently collects into a temporary above-ground pipe that drops over 100 feet down a steep slope eventually discharging into Possession Sound. This temporary pipe was installed 13 years ago to address erosion problems on the hillside above the BNSF railroad tracts. The permanent replacement of the temporary pipe has been identified in the Sewer Water Comprehensive Plan. The vacant lot is approximately on half acre in size located along the bluff side of Shore Avenue. The proposed acquisition price is $600,000. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign Purchase and Sale Agreement with Jeanette Bertrand for the acquisition of property located in 3200 block of Shore Avenue for the Shore Avenue Stormwater Outfall Improvement Project. 15
