The City of Everett participates in the National Flood Insurance <br /> No Program (NFIP) so properties in Everett remain eligible for flood insurance. The <br /> Attachments: City's current flood hazard regulations were last updated in 2005. <br /> Ordinance <br /> The Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) periodically updates the Flood <br /> Department(s)involved: Insurance Study for Snohomish County,to provide more accurate information <br /> Planning concerning flood risks and impact, including properties located in Everett. FEMA <br /> Contact person: has adopted new Flood Insurance Rate Maps that change the areas in Everett that <br /> Steve Ingalsbe are expected to be vulnerable to damages from flood events. <br /> Phone number: FEMA has established a deadline of June 19, 2020, for local jurisdictions to adopt <br /> 425 257-7135 <br /> revised flood damage prevention regulations. <br /> Email: <br /> singalsbe@everettwa.gov - The attached Ordinance establishes interim Flood Damage Prevention regulations <br /> consistent with FEMA's recommended regulations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, <br /> the City will not be able to hold Planning Commission meetings and public hearings <br /> to take public comments as it normally would to amend zoning regulations. The <br /> ordinance, consistent with State law, requires the City Council to hold a public <br /> Initialed by: hearing within 60 days of adopting the interim regulations.
