EVERETT WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION adopting the Annual Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) update for 2021 to 2026. WHEREAS, A. RCW 35.77.010 requires that the legislative body of each city and town shall prepare and adopt a "Comprehensive Transportation Program"for the ensuing six calendar years to serve as a guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation facility construction program, and that said legislative body shall annually thereafter review, amend as necessary, and readopt said Comprehensive Transportation Program; and B. In compliance with RCW 35.77.010 there exists such a Comprehensive Transportation Program (known as the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program or TIP)for the City of Everett that identifies various types of transportation improvements needed, and estimated costs; and C. The City Council of the City of Everett has reviewed the work accomplished under said program, determined current and future City transportation needs, and based on these findings has prepared a Six-year Transportation Improvement Program for the next six years; and D. The adoption of the update to the City of Everett Transportation Improvement Program authorizes city staff to apply for and receive various state and federal funds to implement the projects in the program; and E. After due notice, a hearing on the proposed program was held by the City Council in accordance with RCW 35.77.010; and F. The proposed program is consistent with,and implements the City of Everett Comprehensive Plan; NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. The 2021-2026 annual update of the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein as if fully set forth, is adopted and the City Engineer is directed to file a copy of this program with the Washington State Secretary of Transportation pursuant to RCW 35.77.010 and pursue funding for the projects cited in the program wherever available. 19
