On August28,2013,City Council authorized a request for qualifications(RFQ)to support various grant related activities to include community outreach,site inventory,assessment,prioritization and cleanup planning. A professional services contract was awarded in December 2013 to cover the three year grant period. Re-approp-2013 DOJ Bulletproof Vest Gran" 031R 6,848 • GGR-2 General Fund Re-approp-2013 DOJ Bulletproof Vest Gran 002R I • 6,846 The Bulletproof Vest Partnership(BVP),created by the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998,is-a U.S.Department of Justice initiative designed to provide a critical resou rceto state and local law enforcement. FY 2013 BVP funds became available in 2013 for purchase of compliant armored vests ordered on or after April 1,2013. The Police Department applied for funding to cover the maximum of fifty percent of the cost of 50 vests. The total cost of 50 vests is$37,569;therefore,the EPD applied for$18,784.50. The application was approved in full. Council authorized the Mayor to accept this award at the October 16,2013,Council meeting. • This re-appropriation carries forward the remaining grant funds of$6,848.
