• <br /> June 10, 2020 <br /> President Tuohy announced that the Council is still abiding by COVID-19 shelter- <br /> in-place and social distancing orders, and as a result, City Council meetings will <br /> continue to be held remotely with all meetings scheduled at 12:30 p.m. each <br /> Wednesday, except the first Wednesday of the month when the meeting is <br /> scheduled at 6:30 p.m. She noted that because the evening Council meeting was <br /> cancelled last week due to a power outage, the June 17 meeting is now scheduled <br /> for 6:30 p.m. Citizens are encouraged to call or email public comments. Council Member Moore was excused. <br /> The minutes of the May 27, 2020, City Council meeting were approved as printed. <br /> Council Member Vogeli abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin stated the last few weeks have been rough for our society as it <br /> faces institutional racism and inequities. She stated she has received inquiries <br /> from the public regarding police policies and practices.She, along with Police Chief <br /> Dan Templeman, stated they have zero tolerance for unnecessary force, abuse of <br /> power or racially motivated aggression by any City employee, and especially in the <br /> Police Department. She stated she is thankful for Chief Templeman's commitment <br /> to providing superior services, which starts with recruitment and continues with <br /> ongoing training that includes crisis intervention and implicit bias. Mayor Franklin <br /> spoke about the Police Department's outreach and community engagement <br /> practices.
