.10
June XX, 2015 •
Re: Colors of Freedom Festival
Dear Everett resident:
On Saturday, July 4, the City of Everett will host the Colors of Freedom Festival. The event will
take place between 1 and 11 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park. Given your proximity to the event,
we want to explain the traffic and transportation plans (see map on back).
Everett Transit will again provide free transportation to and from Legion Park for the event.
Last year, the pick-up/drop-off location was in the neighborhood. This year, it will be at the
intersection of W Marine View Drive and Alverson Boulevard, which will reduce the number of
streets that will be closed.
Here are the traffic plans to accommodate the event:
o Legion Park overlook parking lot on the west side of Alverson Boulevard will be closed,
from July 3 to July 5, for event set-up and take-down.
O No public parking will be allowed in Legion Memorial Park on July 4.
© Alverson Boulevard will be closed, from W. Marine View Drive to the 2"d Street,
beginning at 6 a.m.
o Alverson Boulevard, from 2nd Street to Rockefeller Avenue, will be open to local traffic,
but closed to other traffic beginning at 6 a.m.
a Unlike previous years, the north end of Wetmore and Rockefeller avenues will remain
open to traffic during the event.
Once the fireworks begin at about 10:20 p.m., we request that residents refrain from driving
vehicles through the closed streets until midnight. This will allow spectators to safely exit the
area and give city crews time to remove traffic barriers.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
