Amount Budgeted $ 37,800.00 (1) The$199.000.00 grant will pay consultant costs I Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: At the time the City of Everett and Department of Ecology settled the Shoreline Master Program appeal with the Washington Environmental Council and the Everett Shoreline Coalition, we agreed to:jointly pursue funding to study the Marshlands Area for tidal restoration potential. The State funded the project with $199,000 administered through the Department of Ecology. The plan will include evaluations and recommendations for potential projects related to wetlands, habitat, recreation, agriculture and infrastructure. within the Marshland area. This work will be done within the time frames of the agreement. In the near future a contract with the selected consultant will be presented to the City Council for review and approval. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign Grant Agreement No. G0800312 between the State of Washington Department of Ecology and the City of Everett for the Marshland Sub-Area Plan in the amount of$199,000. 9
