EVERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7531 WASHINGTON <br /> A RESOLUTION adopting the Annual Transportation Improvement <br /> Program (TIP) update for 2021 to 2026. <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> A. RCW 35.77.010 requires that the legislative body of each city and town shall prepare and adopt <br /> a "Comprehensive Transportation Program" for the ensuing six calendar years to serve as a <br /> guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation facility construction program, and that said <br /> legislative body shall annually thereafter review, amend as necessary, and readopt said <br /> Comprehensive Transportation Program; and <br /> B. In compliance with RCW 35.77.010 there exists such a Comprehensive Transportation Program <br /> (known as the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program or TIP) for the City of Everett that <br /> identifies various types of transportation improvements needed, and estimated costs; and <br /> C. The City Council of the City of Everett has reviewed the work accomplished under said program, <br /> determined current and future City transportation needs, and based on these findings has <br /> prepared a Six-year Transportation Improvement Program for the next six years; and <br /> D. The adoption of the update to the City of Everett Transportation Improvement Program <br /> authorizes city staff to apply for and receive various state and federal funds to implement the <br /> projects in the program; and <br /> E. After due notice, a hearing on the proposed program was held by the City Council in accordance <br /> with RCW 35.77.010; and <br /> F. The proposed program is consistent with, and implements the City of Everett Comprehensive <br /> Plan; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> 1. The 2021-2026 annual update of the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program, a copy of <br /> which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein as if fully set forth, is adopted and <br /> the City Engineer is directed to file a copy of this program with the Washington State Secretary <br /> of Transportation pursuant to RCW 35.77.010 and pursue funding for the projects cited in the <br /> program wherever available. <br />
