<br /> Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the Maple Heights Bridge Seismic Retrofit project will be
<br /> received at the Purchasing Counter, 3200 Cedar Street, Door#5, Everett, WA, 98201, until 2:00 p.m.
<br /> Ion Tuesday,June 9th, 2020. The Purchasing Counter is open Monday- Friday, from 8:00am -
<br /> 3:00pm. At the appointed time, all bids will be opened and read aloud publicly via webcast only. The
<br /> link for the webcast is located at https//www.everettwa.gov/319/purchasing. For questions regarding
<br /> ilogging into the webcast call (425) 257-8903. The engineer's estimate for this project is $845,000.
<br /> The work includes, but is not limited to:the Maple Heights Bridge, including installation of new catcher
<br /> I block and girder stops at the abutments, expansion joint at the west approach of the bridge, rock slope
<br /> protection under the west end of the bridge, and bridge drainage system at the west end of the bridge.
<br /> Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is
<br /> I provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on
<br /> "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "City of Everett". This online plan room provides Bidders with
<br /> fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets
<br /> I from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that
<br /> Bidders "Register" in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place
<br /> themselves on the "Self-Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically
<br /> I notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on
<br /> this project. Contact Builders Exchange of Washington at (425) 258-1303 should you require assistance
<br /> with access or registration.
<br /> I All bids must be made upon the regular forms provided for this purpose and must be accompanied by
<br /> a bid bond or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the
<br /> Bid.
<br /> IThe City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularities or informalities. No
<br /> bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof. The City further reserves the
<br /> right to make the bid award as deemed in the best interest of the City. The right is reserved by the City
<br /> Ito postpone the award for a period of forty-five (45) days after bid opening.
<br /> The Contractor will be required to comply with all local, State, and Federal laws and regulations
<br /> Ipertaining to equal employment opportunities.
<br /> The City of Everett in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C.
<br /> I 2000d to 2000-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A,
<br /> Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of
<br /> Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure
<br /> that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises
<br /> I as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation
<br /> and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in
<br /> consideration for an award.
