I1 1-05.4.0ption2.RTF <br /> 2 1-05.4 Conformity With and Deviations from Plans and Stakes <br /> I 3 <br /> 4 Supplement this section with the following: <br /> 5 <br /> I 6 Bridge and Structure Surveys <br /> 7 (July 23, 2015 APWA GSP, Option 2) <br /> 8 <br /> 9 For all structural work such as bridges and retaining walls, the Contractor shall retain as <br /> I 10 a part of Contractor's organization an experienced team of surveyors. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 The Contractor shall provide all surveys required to complete the structure, except the <br /> I13 following primary survey control which will be provided by the Engineer: <br /> 14 1. Centerline or offsets to centerline of the structure. <br /> 15 2. Stations of abutments and pier centerlines. <br /> I16 3. A sufficient number of bench marks for levels to enable the Contractor to set grades <br /> 17 at reasonably short distances. <br /> 18 4. Monuments and control points as shown in the Plans. <br /> I19 <br /> 20 The Contractor shall establish all secondary survey controls, both horizontal and vertical, <br /> 21 as necessary to assure proper placement of all project elements based on the primary <br /> 22 control points provided by the Engineer. Survey work shall be within the following <br /> 23 tolerances: <br /> I 24 Stationing ± 0.01 foot <br /> 25 Alignment ± 0.01 foot (between successive points) <br /> 26 Superstructure Elevations ± 0.01 foot (from plan elevations) <br /> 27 Substructure Elevations ± 0 05 foot (from plan elevations) <br /> 28 <br /> 29 During the progress of the work, the Contractor shall make available to the Engineer all <br /> 30 field books including survey information, footing elevations, cross sections and <br /> I 31 quantities. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the close coordination of field locations and <br /> I 34 measurements with appropriate dimensions of structural members being fabricated. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 1-05.7.RTF <br /> I 37 1-05.7 Removal of Defective and Unauthorized Work <br /> 38 (October 1, 2005 APWA GSP) <br /> 39 <br /> I 40 Supplement this section with the following: <br /> 41 <br /> 42 If the Contractor fails to remedy defective or unauthorized work within the time specified <br /> 43 in a written notice from the Engineer, or fails to perform any part of the work required by <br /> 44 the Contract Documents, the Engineer may correct and remedy such work as may be <br /> 45 identified in the written notice, with Contracting Agency forces or by such other means as <br /> 46 the Contracting Agency may deem necessary. <br /> I 47 <br /> 48 If the Contractor fails to comply with a written order to remedy what the Engineer <br /> 49 determines to be an emergency situation, the Engineer may have the defective and <br /> I 50 unauthorized work corrected immediately, have the rejected work removed and replaced, <br /> 51 or have work the Contractor refuses to perform completed by using Contracting Agency <br /> I <br /> MAPLE HEIGHTS BRIDGE SEISMIC RETROFIT PAGE 13 OF 106 SPECIAL PROVISIONS—Addendum 1 <br /> WORK ORDER#3693 MAY 4,2020 FEDERAL AID#BHM-2776(008) <br /> I <br />
