<br />      		2    		AN ORDINANCE levying the  general taxes  for the City of Everett  for the
<br />      		3     iscal year commencing January 1,  1964,  on all taxable property,  both  real and
<br />   			personal,  in said City,  subject to taxation thereon,  for the purpose  of raising
<br />      		4    :  portion of the revenue to  carry on the different departments  of said City for
<br />    			,he  ensuing year,  as  required by the Charter of the  City of Everett,  and the
<br />      		5   laws  of the  State of Washington;  prescribing and  apportioning the  same  into the
<br />    			•ifferent funds  of  said City for the fiscal year,  and providing for the  collection
<br />      		6     hereof.
<br />      		7nHEREAS,  the City Council of the City of Everett duly and  regularly
<br />    			adopted as  required by laws,  the  estimate of the amounts required to meet the
<br />      		8   'public  expense  of  said City for the  ensuing year and the amount to be  raised by
<br />    			,axation in said  City for said ensuing year from sources  other than direct tax-
<br />      		9   =:t ion,  and
<br />     		10    		WHEREAS,  notice  that  said City Council tentatively completed the budget
<br />   			' or the year 1964,  and that  a copy of  said budget would be furnished any taxpayer
<br />     		11    . f the City of Everett  on application therefor,  and that the City Council of said
<br />   			pity would meet  in the Council Chambers  of the City Hall at  10:00 A.M.    on the
<br />     		12     th day of October,  1963,  for the purpose  of fixing the  final budget  and deter—
<br />     			mining the tax levy and that  any taxpayer might  appear thereat  and be heard for
<br />    			or against  any part  of  said budget,  was published  in the  official newspaper in
<br />     		13   : 11 respects  as  required by law,  and
<br />     		14    		WHEREAS,  the City Council did  on the  7th day of October,  1963,  meet  in
<br />     		15    he Council Chambers for  said  purpose and having heard all persons  appearing in
<br />    			'avor of or against  said proposed levy,  did then and there make,  determine  and
<br />   			tecide the  amount  of taxes to be placed upon the  current  assessment  roll to be
<br />     		16    he  sum of   1,015,996.00.
<br />     		17    		NOW,  THEREFORE,  THE CIT''  OF EVERETT DOES  ORDAIN:
<br />     		18    		Section 1:    That there be,  and hereby is levied upon real and personal
<br />    			&roperty in the  City of Everett,  subject to taxation thereon,  a  general property
<br />     		19    ax for municipal purposes  for the  ensuing year commencing on January 1,  1964,  in
<br />     		20    he  sum of  - 1,015,996.00,  allocated  as  follows:
<br />    					General Current  Expense Fund			88,996.00

<br />    					Section 2:   That the City Clerk be,  and he is hereby directed to certif
<br />     		24    o the  County Assessor a  copy of this Ordinance  in order that the  same be  extende4;
<br />     			pon the  general assessment  roll of  said County,  in the  same manner and at the
<br />     		25   .ame  time  as the  levy for State  and County taxes  is  extended.
<br />     		26   		Section 3:   That  said taxes  shall be  collected and paid to the City
<br />    			treasurer at the  same  time and in the  same manner provided by the laws  of the
<br />     		27   tate  of Washington relating to  collection of taxes in cities  of the first  class.
