ORDINANCE NO. 3962. <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Section 80 of Ordinance <br /> No. 3211 ; Everett City Code, Section 8 . 24.050 , requiring <br /> any person operating a motor vehicle to drive upon the <br /> right hand side of any city streets and highways and <br /> providing exceptions thereto; making it lawful to drive <br /> on designated lanes of travel upon one-way streets and <br /> making it unlawful to drive in the wrong direction upon <br /> one-way streets , and declaring an emergency . <br /> NOS-/, THEREFORE , THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : That Section 8 .24.050 , Everett City <br /> Code, is hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> 8 . 24.050 Drive on right of highways , exception ; <br /> drive on designated lanes upon one-way streets ; <br /> unlawful to operate in the wrong direction upon <br /> one-way streets . <br /> (a ) Whenever any person is operating any <br /> motor vehicle upon public streets and highways <br /> of this city designated for two-way traffic <br /> said operator shall at all times drive such <br /> motor vehicle to the right of the center of such <br /> highway, except when in the exercise of care in <br /> the overtaking and passing of another vehicle <br /> traveling in the same direction , or where an <br /> obstruction exists it is necessary to drive to <br /> the left of the center of such highway , provided <br /> the some is done with due care, and the right- <br /> of-way is extended to vehicles traveling in the <br /> proper direction upon the unobstructed portion <br /> of the public highway. <br /> (b) Whenever any person operates any motor <br /> vehicle upon a public highway or street of this <br /> city designated as one-way or marked or provided <br /> for one-way traffic, it shall be lawful to operate <br /> a motor vehicle only in the direction designated <br /> and in the lanes designated for travel in such <br /> direction , and it shall be unlawful for any <br /> operator of any such motor vehicle to drive <br /> said motor vehicle upon a designated one-way <br /> street or highway in the City of Everett in any <br /> direction different from that so designated for <br /> one-way travel . <br /> Section 2 : That an emergency is hereby declared <br /> to exist and this ordinance shall take effect upon its <br /> passage and publication . <br /> /; I <br /> MAYOR <br /> Attest • Passed: July 2, 1963. <br /> �// Published: July 5, 163. <br /> 1// ✓ ty1C Perk <br />
