In light of
this budget crisis, we are reaching out to request that you continue to adequately fund the Everett Public Library.
The Library has been a godsend for us! Our children, moving into 4th and 2nd grade at Whittier Elementary in the fall,
are avid readers, and quickly devoured the books we had at home and those I was able to bring home from my
classroom (I teach first grade for Everett Public Schools) at the time of closure. The Library reopening for drop-off and
curbside pick-up has helped keep us stocked with books in order to keep the boys' minds engaged and their learning
adventures moving forward. Screentime is limited (actually, pretty much non-existent for our children) so reading
online or on a device is not something we encourage. We prefer a "book in the hand" and have been checking out at
least 10 chapter books a week for the boys as well as for ourselves. What can I say? We love to read!
Please support the Everett Public Library so they can continue to provide materials for our family as well as countless
others in the community.
Respectfully,
Robyn &Randy Ross
Everett, Washington 98201
