• Where the pipe or other conduit penetrates a duct or hood,the penetration shall have a <br /> liquid tight continuous external weld or shall be sealed by a listed device. <br /> • The kitchen extinguishing system shall meet the requirements of UL 300,NFPA 17A and <br /> NFPA 96. <br /> ® Upon activation of the extinguishing system, all sources of fuel and electrical power that <br /> produce heat to all equipment with required protection shall be automatically shut off. <br /> o Any gas appliance not requiring protection but under the same hood shall be <br /> automatically shut off. <br /> o Only persons trained and qualified to install the specific system being provided shall <br /> perform the installation. The installer shall provide certification to the authority having <br /> jurisdiction that the installation is in agreement with the terms of the listing and the <br /> manufacturer's instructions and or approved design. <br /> • A minimum 6-liter size portable Class K extinguisher shall be mounted a maximum of 30 <br /> feet of travel distance from the cooking equipment.
