Mc instry <br /> For The ife Of Your Building <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> Date: August 19, 2019 <br /> To: Drew Martin <br /> From: Jeff Goodwin P.E. <br /> Project: PRMCE - D Wing L2 - Surgery Suite Build Out <br /> 1700 13th St. Everett, WA 98201 <br /> Subject: Response to Permit Review Comments (Plan Check <br /> Number X1907-001) <br /> As requested, see our comments below in response to the permit reviewer <br /> comments (3) associated with the mechanical drawings. <br /> In summary, we have reviewed the comments and addressed the items as <br /> requested. Please let us know if you have further questions or require <br /> additional info. <br /> Item 1: The project includes four air terminal units per Sheet M0.02. It is <br /> presumed that the units weight approximately 50 lbs each and will require <br /> individual gravity suspension and seismic bracing. See IBC 107.2.1, 1604.1, <br /> and 1613.1, and ASCE 7-10 Section 14.1.4 Item 6c. The following comment <br /> shall be addressed: <br /> a., Details for the support of the unit shall be included in the construction <br /> documents. <br /> b. Calculations for the support design shall be submitted for review. The <br /> seismic bracing shall comply with the requirements of IBC Section <br /> 13.6. <br /> c. It is anticipated that the anchorage will include post-installed concrete <br /> anchors connecting to the concrete floor slab above. The drawings <br /> shall specify special inspection for the anchors. The types and <br /> frequency of the inspections shall be listed. See IBC Sections 1704.3 <br /> and 1704.3.1, and Table 1705.3 Item 4. <br /> McKinstry Response: <br /> a. Units are supported from light gage metal gravity straps per SMACNA <br /> standard. Straps are fastened to slab on metal deck soffit with Hilti <br /> battery actuated fasteners [McK/JWG 8/19/19]. <br /> b. In-line mechanical equipment rigidly connected weighing less than 75 <br /> lbs are exempt from seismic requirements per ASCE 7-10 Ch. 13 <br /> Section 13.6.7.
