Later today we will be urging the Snohomish County
Prosecutor's office to re-consider their interpretation of the recent Supreme Court ruling that has led them to this new
enforcement.
Other actions being taken to avoid the calamitous repercussions of the compliance requirement include:
• Both King and Snohomish Counties have petitioned the Supreme Court to reconsider or clarify their decision.
• Senate Bill 5212 has been introduced and received its initial hearing in an attempt to restore your vesting rights.
• Some may consider separate legal action once this new enforcement begins.
We are vigorously working all avenues to address this severe new requirement. While we are hopeful for a successful
resolution to the issue as early as today,we cannot assure members of a different outcome.
1
