• <br /> September 2, 2020 <br /> President Tuohy announced that the Council is still abiding by Governor Inslee's <br /> Safe Start guidelines, and as a result, City Council meetings will continue to be held <br /> remotely as regularly scheduled and due to the order, the public may not attend <br /> meetings. Council meetings can be viewed on Everett Channel,the City website or <br /> listeners can call in at 1.425.616.3920, Conference ID: 724 887 726#. Citizens are <br /> encouraged to provide comments in writing prior to the meeting at <br /> council@everettwa.gov. Since this is a workshop setting, no public comment will <br /> be accepted. <br /> The workshop meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:32 p.m., <br /> September 2, 2020, Council President Tuohy presiding. Upon roll call,it was found <br /> that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Vogeli, <br /> Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. <br /> The minutes of the August 26, 2020, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> • President Tuohy stated that this evening the Council will revisit the COPS Hiring <br /> Grant after she received a formal request from Council Members Murphy and <br /> Stonecipher to reconsider the item. She stated comments received from citizens <br /> will be a part of the record. <br /> Mayor Franklin stated the City will receive additional Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and <br /> Economic Security Act (CARES)grant funding. Finance will work with departments <br /> to discuss the best allocation of these funds and the Department of Commerce is <br /> extending the timeline for use of the funds. <br /> ACTION ITEMS: <br /> AGREEMENT—COPS HIRING PROGRAM <br /> Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Moore, to <br /> authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents and agreements with the <br /> Department of Justice, COPS Hiring Program regarding the award acceptance <br /> and utilization of the COPS Hiring Program funding in the amount of$6,054,160. <br /> • <br /> 257 <br />
