35 <br /> February 9,1972 <br /> BID CA.POSTPONED Tack McKenzie,Finance Director,submitted a proposed bid <br /> call for corrective construction for the first floor of the <br /> City Hall and code violation correctior.for the first and <br /> second floors. Total cost of proposed remodeling to be <br /> $90,000. <br /> Councilman Aldcroft said it was his understanding that the <br /> study being made for the Police Administration Building and. <br /> other facilities was going to take into consideration some <br /> of the prOhlems of the city Hall and ne wondered if possibly <br /> this bid call couldn't be postponed until after this study <br /> had been finished. <br /> Counci..Langus.commented on the economy In the area right <br /> now and wondered if it would be wise to spend mon,On <br /> remodeling the City Hall at this time. 1 <br /> Councilman Kinch said ih was his understanding in their <br /> discussions,that they may be ready to move ahead on an <br /> extensive project at this time and he felt that the remodel- <br /> ing of one part of the building at this time was not proper. <br /> her.. <br /> Moved by Councilman Michelson,seconded by Councilman Dobler <br /> to continue indefinitely the proposed bid call and to meet <br /> with environmental concern within the next seven days to study <br /> this problem. <br /> Unanimously carried <br /> RESOLUTIONS Moved by Councilman Dobler,seconded by Councilman Langus to <br /> adopt Resolution#486 as follows: <br /> WHEREAS,the 12.waterline at 5.Street from Grand to <br /> Norton Avenue has been inoperative since January,19)2, <br /> which up to that time provided looping for the water ser- <br /> vices on Norton Avenue,and <br /> WHEREAS,looping of the water system on Norton Avenue <br /> is necessary to properly serve existing industry in the area, <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS,it is necessary to replace the said waterline <br /> from Grand to Norton in order to provide a looped sYsteM, <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is authorised to coordinate and I <br /> direct all...ere..departmentanagekkohl,,,I,ns,pre- <br /> Iminary estimate,and a financing plan for improvement <br /> Norton Avenue from 10th Street to 5th Street by install- <br /> 2.
