175
April 17,1974 7
Moved by Councilman Rucker, seconded by Councilman Md ft to authorize
the administration to negotiate a contract with the Y.M.C.A.for opera- I
tion of the Silver Lake concession this summer.
Roll was called with all Councilmen voting Yee•
Motion Carried
SERVICE CENTER SIDEWALKS
Herb Boushey reported there is approximately 860 lineal feet of gravel
walkways around the Service Center on Hill Street and 33rd Street. He ,k
said walkways of this n5ture are a continual maintenance problem for
the Street Department because of gravel spilling over into the street
and the growth of weeds.
He suggested two alternatives to take care of this problem. The first
would be that the Street Department would place the concrete in these ,
areas as a miscellaneohs fill-in project as time allows, probably taking 41
up to two years to complete it.
The other alternative would be to call for bids to complete the sidewalks
in a shorter period of time. He recommended the second alternative.
BID CALL
Moved by Councilman Rucker, seconded by Councilman Gipson to authorize
the administration to pxepare a bid call for construction of the sidewalks
now in gravel around the Service Center.
Councilman Michelson felt it was a waste of money when there were other
areas in more need of sidewalks, and when there were so few people using
these sidewalks.
Councilman Kinch agreed that there were many other areas in more need of
sidewalks than this particular spot. He said, however,he felt that the
maintenance of the area was most bnportant and it would certainly make
the whole Service Center project better looking.
Roll was called on the motion for a bid call with all Councilmen voting
yes, except Councilman Michelson who voted no.
Motion Carried
AGREEMENT ti. !
1 4 !
Moved by Councilman Rucker, seconded by Councilman Michelson to au480.4,ze
the Mayor to sign an inter-local agreement with Snohomish County for ahe
1S74 purchase of oils and grease.
Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes.
11
Motion Carried
114,'
SP}
