1 August 7,19,1 311 <br /> The Regular Meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> F:30 a.m.in the Conference Room of the Everett City Hall,August 7,1974, <br /> President Aldcroft presiding and all Councilmen in attendance. <br /> SHORELINE MANAGEMENT ACT REPORT <br /> Dennis Gre,11,of the Community Development Department reported on the <br /> :horeline Management Act adopted by the State Legislature in 1071 and <br /> ubsequently approved by thewlectorate of the State in the General <br /> Electiwn of 1972. <br /> He then reviewed the policy,scope,administration,permit(taken from the <br /> PolicY)guidelines (as established by the Deparyment of Ecology)inventory <br /> (all shoreline area in the City of Everett had to be inventoried)and <br /> the Master Plan. <br /> Dale Heneley,Chairman of the Citisen Advisory Committee on Shoreline <br /> Management,reviewed the actions and meetings held by the Committee since <br /> 't was formed in September of 1973 and to the present date. <br /> After considerable discussion a motion was made by Councilman Michelson and i-; .1' <br /> 1 <br /> (.. <br /> seconded by Councilman GiPSOn tO call for a public hearing at 2:00 p.m. I'. <br /> August 28,1974 on the Shoreline Master Program as presented by the <br /> Advisory Committee. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes. . <br /> • Motion Carried <br /> On Motion the meeting recessed to the Council Chambers. <br /> The Regular Meeting of the Everett City Council reconvened at 10.00 a.m. <br /> in the Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President Aldcroft , <br /> presiding. Upon roll call it was found that all Councilmen were in <br /> attendance. , <br /> Minutes of the meeting held July 31,1974 were approved as printed. ' <br /> 52ND STREET IMPROVEMENT , <br /> Dave Milard,representing Wilsey a Ha,the consultant on the improvement <br /> of 52nd Street,presented three alternatives ry the Council. Alternative 'L t' <br /> A used the present street configuration with sidewalks,curb and gutter .•, ' <br /> on the north Sidet and curb and gutter on the south side. Total cost for <br /> this would be$108,000. , , <br /> Alternative B which their firm felt was the safest configuration follomed 11''' r." <br /> the same street width but softened the°erne and ellen ed the crest of the ',),1„.,1, <br /> hill. The costs of this plan was$164,000. The thard alternatave was the <br /> plan presented at the Workshop session July 31st. The cost of this plan <br /> was 8176,000 plus$20,000 for right-of-way aquisiton. <br /> Herb Boushey,Director of Maintenance 6 Facilities,recommended that addi- <br /> tional drainage be installed at the same time as any new constabction in <br /> this area. <br /> 417'u <br /> --- <br />
