October 8,1975 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> =1ILO,112,T,;errAtIzoft,seconded by Councilman GiPeoB to adoPt <br /> A RESOLUTION to purchase equipment for the Everett Police <br /> Department <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Police Department has determined that certain <br /> items of eqUipment are necessary to prOvide logietical euPPort te the <br /> Organized Crime and Intelligence Unit, <br /> WHEREAS,the Audio-Intelligence Devices of Fort Lauderdale,Florida <br /> which is the manufacturer for said equipment and the equipment is of <br /> • <br /> superior quality and the most econmical of available units, <br /> WHEREAS,funds are available to the Police Department through LEAA <br /> funded grants for the purchase of this equipment for the use of the <br /> Organized Crime Unit. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT <br /> that an emergency is hereby declared to exist by reason of the fact that <br /> the Audio-Intelligence Devices,Inc.of Fort Lauderdale,Florida is the <br /> prime source OR said equipment to law enforcement agencies and be it <br /> further resolved that the Police Department of the City of Everett is <br /> hereby authorized and directed to purchase without calling for bids the <br /> above described equipment from Audio-Intelligence Devices,Fort <br /> Lauderdale,Florida for the sum Of 5a,s93 plus state sales tax. • <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen by ,yes,except councilman <br /> Michelson and Ebert who were exctded. <br /> G• <br /> Motion Carried <br /> Councilman Ebert returned to the meeting at this tind. <br /> EVERETT THEATRE PROPOSAL <br /> • <br /> Arden Flum,Director of Theater at the CoMmunity College revieWed .• <br /> the history•of the Everett Theater and the proposal by the Civic <br /> Arts Commission before the Council for the purchase and renovation <br /> of the theatre. <br /> President Einch announced that a workshop would be held on this proposal • <br /> so no decision would be made by the Council today. <br /> LAW AND JUSTICE PLANNING GRANT <br /> Moved by Councilman Lang.,...ended bY Coupe....bert BPPr°vB <br /> the request of the Drug Abuse Council of Everett that the City sponsor, <br /> at no costa grant from the State Law and Justice Planning Office for <br /> jUVellile delinquency intervention and pevention. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yeS,except CoUncilman <br /> Michelson who was excused. <br /> Motion Carried <br />
