Fire Department response would remain as it isunder the present system. The MICU would respond from the <br /> hospital when determined either by dispatch in the initial .. call or the SPCA's in the field,that the call was a life- •threatening situation. EMTA's would stabilize the individ- •• <br /> ual then request an ambulance for transport,or in the case <br /> .•. of a life-threatening situation would stabilize if they <br /> were firston-the scene and await arrival of the MICH. In <br /> all cases,FMTA's would assist MICH whenever possible. <br /> C. Aid cars equipped with intensive care equipment(including . <br /> equipment for cardiac arrest,telemetry,drug package,shock, <br /> . I.V.'s,airways,etc.)working out of the emergencY room.Of <br /> • the two local hospitals and staffed by two on-duty personnel <br /> . from the Fire Department. One aid car at one of the two <br /> . hospitals at all times,working on a four-hour rotation <br /> schedule. The other aid car would remain at Station#5 in , <br /> '. the south end of town. Training in advanced life support <br /> • techniques would be required of Fire Department personnei <br /> • <br /> •.. as well iv emergency room staffs. (Constant on-going train- <br /> •. ing-.tub)be received by Fire Department personnel as part <br /> of their shift time in the hospital emergency rooms).
