June 9,1976 <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council allOcatecl funds amounting to 51,099,139 <br /> toward the express purpose of meeting the swimming pool project <br /> costs on February 19,1975,leaving a deficit of$39,327.23 to com- <br /> pl'ete the project;and <br /> WHEREAS,the amount of$1,049,839 discussed and allocated on <br /> February 19,1975,has not yet been totally appropriated;a. <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council acknowledges the need to improve the traffic <br /> circulation roadway a.parking area around swimming pool;and 'I): <br /> WHEREAS,the Council has been presented actual costs incurred to <br /> date as$992,314 with an estimated total cost at$1,089,161.23 to <br /> complete the project Muth includes the remaining funds to complete <br /> tne sWiagning pool and Improve the circulation roadway and parking <br /> area): <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT that the actions taken by the Council were to: <br /> 1. Provide a completed Indoor/outdoor swimming pool facility 1) <br /> at Forest Park. <br /> 2. Provide for the funding of this facility from a tederal <br /> (Bureau of Outdoor Recreation)grant in the amount of <br /> $197,915,a state(Interagency Committee)grant in the <br /> amount of 598,707 and the remainder of tne needed funds r, <br /> from annUal general revenne received by the CitY and <br /> selling of Council...tic bonds. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL to authorize the preparation <br />• of a supplement to the 1976 budget to meet the additgonal costa to <br /> complete the swimming pool project. <br /> NON,THEREFORE,BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to authorize tne preparation t <br /> of plans and specifications and return to Council for plan apprOval <br /> le and call for bids to improve the traffic circulation roadway and <br /> parking areas in the vicinity of the Forest Park Swimming pool.
