Grant funds to the Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Housing and Community DeveioPment Act 3,AAA, ; Whereas,the City Council of tn.city of Everett recognizes the need for certain community development programs in Everett,and Whereas,funds have been made Available through the Housing and Commu- nity Development Act of 1974 to provide for those programs,and Whereas,the Community development program identified to best satisfy the above needs include: A!! 1. Senior Citizens Center Construction 2. Senior Center Alley,Street and 8200,000 Utility Improvements 33,400 3. Thornton A.Sullivan Park improvements 38,000 4. Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program 5. Public Facility Improvements in 346,342 Rekabilitation Neighborhoods 44$' 6. Bloc.;Grant Administration Total 8733,000 whereas,the Department of H44,4,usingBan:hUrban Developmenth:".allocated 44,11 Whereas,the City Council of the City of Everett considers it to be in the hest interest of the public to implement the above community develop- ment programs in Everett. Now therefore,he it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that: 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to make formal application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for funding assistance in accordance with the rePort and recommendations of the Citizen Advisory Committee for Housing and Community Development as submitted to City Council December 15,1976,and as MOdified by the City Council on that elate. 2.
